JAMILA
(to Adham)

JUL

JAMILA

GHASSAN

Jamila walks over to the TV, turns the volume down.

HAMZI

JAMILA

(to her father)

She sighs, turns it up, makes a show of sitting down and opening her book. Over the sound of the TV:

GHASSAN
I remember this one: The president of the U.S. comes, but there’s no one to make sure he doesn’t drown.

HAMZI
It’s not one of my top ten. But it’s still good.

JAMILA
Wait. Can we have the show or the side commentary? One or the other?

GHASAAN
