EXCERPT
Adham smiles the smallest bit, pours himself a drink and sits down to type on a typewriter or early personal computer. It’s 1982. He turns music down as he works. Perhaps behind Adham are projected these words from the poem The Ruined Cottage:
‘I see around me here
Things which you cannot see: we die, my Friend,
Nor we alone, but that which each man loved
And prized in his peculiar nook of earth
Dies with him or is changed... ‘

The second play in the trilogy, THE VAGRANT, was originally commissioned and developed by The Public Theater as part of the Gail Merrifield Papp Fellowship.
”We left the theater and our stuff, thinking, like so many others, that we’d be back soon. It was an odd thing to happen in the middle of a show about displaced people"
