EXCERPT

Adham smiles the smallest bit, pours himself a drink and sits down to type on a typewriter or early personal computer. It’s 1982. He turns music down as he works. Perhaps behind Adham are projected these words from the poem The Ruined Cottage:

‘I see around me here

Things which you cannot see: we die, my Friend,

Nor we alone, but that which each man loved

And prized in his peculiar nook of earth

Dies with him or is changed... ‘

The Public Theater

Part 1: The Hour of feeling

In a sense, the playwright Mona Mansour has been working on “The Vagrant Trilogy” for fifteen years; in another sense, she’s been working up to it her whole life. It’s that kind of play.
